The engine oil pressure sender/sensor is designed to measure the integrity of the engine lubrication system. The sender/sensor responds to changes in engine oil pressure, displayed via operation of the oil pressure light or gauge.
The water temperature sender is designed to measure the integrity of the engine cooling system. The sender responds to changes in engine coolant temperature, displayed via operation of the water temperature light or gauge.
The coolant temperature sensor is designed to respond to changes in engine coolant temperature. The sensor is crucial in the control of temperature based functions performed by the ECU (eg spark and fuel timing, instrumentation, etc).
The thermo fan switch is designed to control operation of the electric thermo fan(s). The thermo fan switch responds to changes in engine coolant temperature, providing circuit switching during a predetermined temperature range allowing fan operation.
The stop light switch is a mechanical device used to control operation of vehicle stop lights. The switch is designed to complete the circuit with the application of the brake pedal allowing stop light operation. A secondary function of the switch may be performed on vehicles with cruise control. The stop light switch is used to interrupt the cruise control circuit and disengage the cruise control when the brake pedal is applied.
The reverse light switch is a mechanical device used to control operation of the vehicle reverse lights. The switch is designed to complete the circuit when reverse gear is selected allowing reverse light operation (manual transmission only).
The A/C pressure switch is a safety device fitted to most modern air-con systems
The Tridon switch and sensor range has been carefully researched and engineered to operate within original equipment manufacturer's specifications for each specific application.
